Based on the 27 acres of Hertfordshire parkland, a NIBE Fighter heat pump is providing not only economical and highly efficient hot water and heating, but also supplying an indoor swimming pool too.
This newly built country house in Hertford Heath uses a NIBE Fighter 1320-20kW with ground collectors based in one of the estates three lakes as a heat source.
A body of water is far more conductive than soil or rock so allows the heat pump to operate even more efficiently. After consultation, NIBE also specified a plex heat exchanger to work with the lake water system and the heat pump, ensuring no foreign material entered the heat pump which could cause flow problems.
Although the heat pump is perfectly capable of supplying the house and swimming pool with sufficient heating/hot water, a supplementary gas boiler has been included in case of crises or extraordinary heat requirements.
